01 Why Use an Automatic Leak Tester?
Injection-blow molded containers can fail through pinholes, weak weld lines, insufficient wall thickness or a damaged neck seal. An automatic leak tester identifies these defects before filling and packaging.
Catch defects before filling
Reject leaking bottles before they reach filling and sealing stations, saving expensive product and packaging material.
Improve end-product reliability
Leak-free containers reduce customer complaints and brand damage, especially in chemical and food packaging.
Collect QC data
PLC records test pressure, reject counts and total cycles, giving your quality control team reliable batch information.
Reduce manual inspection
Automatic stations inspect every container consistently, eliminating dependence on operator skill and fatigue.
02 How It Works
The leak tester uses a differential pressure decay method. Each station seals the bottle and monitors internal pressure over a short test cycle.
Container loading
Bottles are moved automatically into the test station. The neck seal is placed against the container mouth.
Sealing and pressurization
Clean, filtered air is introduced into the container until the preset test pressure is reached.
Pressure decay measurement
The system monitors pressure changes. A drop beyond the defined threshold indicates the bottle is not leak-tight.
Reject and record
Defective bottles are removed by a pneumatic ejector. The PLC logs the result for quality reporting.
03 Key Technical Features
Dual-channel testing
Each station contains two independent leak detection circuits, delivering better sensitivity for small openings.
Flexible height adjustment
Container height can be set from 610 mm to 1300 mm using two sliding rods, so different bottle heights are easy to set up.
Siemens PLC control
The Siemens controller provides stable machine logic, recipe memory for different bottle formats, and basic production records.
Touchscreen HMI
Intuitive touch panel makes parameter setting, manual mode and fault diagnosis quick for operators.
Automatic reject station
A dedicated rejection mechanism removes failed bottles from the line without interrupting the testing cycle.
Wide bottle range
Handles containers from 5 ml to 20 L (minimum diameter 25 mm), covering most blow molding output.
